Presidential Citation
2017/2018 PDG of 9790 Bernie Bott made a special presentation to PP Marj Hamilton of a Rotary Citation from 2017/2018 RI President Ian Riseley, one of 5 in District’s 9790 64 clubs to receive the honour. In presenting the Citation, Bernie described the club as a trailblazer and a leader. Marj was delighted to accept the Citation on behalf of all members of the club and thanked everyone for their support. Past AG and now District Secretary Anne Reid was also present for the presentation.
Guest Speaker: Joanne Griffith
Joanne Griffith’s, a fifth generation Kelly, spoke of her family’s plan to establish a Ned Kelly Centre at Greta.
The project is family driven, with plans to include a museum, education centre and a community hub and with a view to telling all sides of the story. Joanne said they have completed several business plans and have broken the project up into three phases, with development dependant on availability of funding.Joanne said the project aimed to share the stories of the rural North East and to collaborate with as many as possible for the benefit of the regional community and cover as many aspects of the history as they possibly could.
